Project Management Team

Human Systems knowledge sharing and benchmarking Networks are now up and running in both Sweden and Italy, following Human Systems partnering agreements with Semcon Project Management and Project Management Team Group (PMT Group) respectively.

Tony Teague, Managing Director of Human Systems in Europe, explains

“This is an important development for Human Systems Network members, both in Europe and beyond.  Organisations from Scandinavia and from Italy will now be able to fully participate in our knowledge sharing workshops and will add to the depth of our benchmarking and analysis.

Members based in these countries can now enjoy local support, and have access to our proprietary assessment tools – on their doorstep.”

These alliances form part of a wider strategy to make Human Systems’ services more easily accessed across the world.  Further Networks in other regions are expected to be announced later this year.

Project Manager Today Article - Sharing data is the answer to pm success

project manager todaySharing data is the answer to pm success - Ken Lane

Terry Cooke-Davies set up his world-wide Networks for companies to safely share data on their successes and failures in projects and programmes, so that he could provide real benchmarks against which they could improve their practices.  As a successful entrepreneur and businessman he recognises the need to learn from real experience, and he describes project management as an area of management where ‘yesterday is not a reliable guide for tomorrow’.

PMI Global Congress EMEA 2007

Visit us at Booth 18

And hear Human Systems’ Tony Teague and Dr Terry Cooke-Davies present their Congress paper:

‘Developing Organisational Capability:  Pointers and Pitfalls’

The project management profession is faced with a two-fold opportunity: the pressure for profitable, innovation-led growth, and the pressure for improved project and corporate governance. Decades of research has shown that, in order to be more successful in delivering strategy, change, and new products or services, organisations need to become more capable of managing their entire project work load.  As their capability increases, so does their maturity.
This paper draws upon three strands of new research to demonstrate:

  • which elements of project management capability are central to the successful delivery of change
  • the adverse consequence of seeking to deliver projects when these elements of capability are missing,
  • how the entire organisation must be involved if the necessary elements of capability are to be developed, and
  • where are the best places to start in developing these elements of capability.

It will provide clear pointers to any organisation that seriously wishes to improve its capability, and will highlight pitfalls to be avoided. Click for more informationBack to the top of the page
