As Executive Vice President, Liquid Waste Operations, Dave Olson has responsibility for the site's liquid nuclear waste processes and facilities, ranging from managing waste stored in the tank farms to immobilizing the waste in glass at the Defense Waste Processing Facility, the world's largest vitrification plant.

Mr. Olson has held management positions at the Savannah River Site since 1981. Before becoming Executive Vice President, he served as Liquid Waste Operations manager, where he was responsible for successfully executing and managing operational, project, construction and other business functions as required to deliver the SRS strategic mission objectives in Liquid Waste and associated areas.  Dave manages work that is technically complex, logistically complicated, and strategically connected to virtually every site mission involving nuclear materials.

Mr. Olson has more than 25 years of experience in government nuclear facilities. He has held positions of increasing line management responsibility, including assignments as the restart manager of F Canyon, facility manager of several nuclear operations, and area project manager of high level waste operations. During these assignments, Mr. Olson gained subject matter expertise in human performance, readiness reviews and leadership development.

Mr. Olson is a winner of the 2003 Washington Group International Lion's Award for the Off-Spec Highly-Enriched Uranium Blend Down Project and the 2006 WGI E&E Employee Development Award. He received the 2004 Secretary's Excellence in Acquisition Award from Secretary of Energy, Spencer Abraham.
