Steve Allchorn
Strategic Programme Manager, Post Office Ltd
During 23 years in the Post Office environment, Steve Allchorn has operated at all business levels and within a number of departments. Initially, he managed at frontline branch level and was later promoted to area manager.
He entered into Quality Management in 1992 and was responsible for driving the Post Office 'Customer First' Programme. He co-ordinated EFQM submissions for both 1996 & 1997, and had a spell in Business Process Management before project managing the Network Banking element of the Corporate 'Shaping for Competitive Success' Programme in 1999 - the biggest business-wide change programme in Post Office history.
Steve later managed the PMO for the Post Office Card Account programme - the replacement benefits operating service. He also worked in the Business Strategy area before joining HR and programme managing HR initiatives and people measurement systems between 2002 and 2006.
Steve Allchorn is currently operating in the Business Strategy team as Strategic Programme Manager, is an accredited PRINCE2™ practitioner and an MSP™ advanced practitioner. He holds additional qualifications in quality management systems, including EFQM Business Excellence, Unit Excellence and BPI.
