Stuart Donald
Stuart obtained a BSc and PhD in pharmacology from the University of Dundee and followed this with post-doctoral work at the University of Bristol. In 1997, he joined CMR International, a London-based pharmaceutical research organization. Here he was responsible for CMR’s pharmaceutical R&D benchmarking and performance metrics programmes, working with many global pharmaceutical companies.
Stuart moved to the USA in 2001 where he worked in project management organizations for Pharmacia and subsequently for Centocor (a Johnson and Johnson affiliate). In these positions Stuart led teams that introduced new project information systems and dashboards and developed performance metrics processes.
He returned to the UK in 2006 and joined UCB Pharma as a Senior Business Improvement Manager. In this role he led multiple process improvement and change management projects across UCB’s R&D groups.
Stuart is currently Associate Director for Project Management Performance within PPD, a leading contract research organization that carries out clinical studies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Stuart leads the resourcing process for project managers within Europe and also has responsibilities related to process improvement within the project management area.
