Dave has worked for 20 years in the aerospace industry, in the field of gas turbine design, development and support across the civil and defence sectors. Dave joined Rolls-Royce in 1990 as a development engineer, working initially on helicopter engines. He then moved into engineering project management roles, and led packages of work in support of the propulsion system for the Joint Strike Fighter and Trent 900 for the Airbus A380.

In addition Dave has led project teams working on the acquisition of new technologies and business process improvement. In recent years he has been more involved in operational management, after being appointed as the General Manager for Experimental Build and Test in Rolls-Royce in Derby during the development of the Trent 1000 engine for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Currently Dave is a Programme Executive responsible for developing and deploying strategy for the Engineering Function within Rolls-Royce, and in particular is improving the project management of engineering programmes through improved technical and leadership capability.
